Eggplant (Asian)


Attractive slender 8-10” long eggplants. Tender, delicately flavored, and quick cooking. Delicious in Indian, Thai and Italian dishes. 

Plant outside in late spring or early summer when the chance of cold weather has passed.

Planting Instructions: Plant 18” apart in rows 30-36” apart. Eggplants require fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.2-6.8. Do not over fertilize with nitrogen, which can result in large, bushy plants that produce only one small set of fruit. Plants may be pruned and staked.

Light Preference: Sun

Harvest: Pick the first fruit about 58 days after planting. Clip fruit stem with shears. Pick regularly to encourage further production.
