Marigolds (Yellow and Orange)

A good choice for pots and garden planting including beds. Bloom size is 2-2 ½”. Highly branching plants. Attract beneficial insects.

Edible Flowers: Use the flowers to dress up salads, desserts, and rice dishes. Flavor is floral with hints of citrus and spice, and slightly bitter. Remove the petals from the flower base before consuming, as the base can be quite bitter.

Plant outside after danger of frost has passed. High temperatures can cause the plants to temporarily stall in growth and bloom but they bounce back when the weather changes.

Planting Instructions: Plant 8-12” apart in well-drained, fertile soil high in organic matter.

Light Preference: Sun

Height: 8-12”

Harvest: Harvest when flowers are fully open but still have tight centers.
