Peppers (Sweet Italian Red)
A beautiful pepper of the Italian corno di toro or bull’s horn type with a sweet taste for salads and roasting, particularly when red ripe. Tapered fruits average 6” long by 2 1/2” wide and ripen from green to deep red.
Plant outside after the last frost when the soil is warm and the weather has settled.
Planting Instructions: Plant 12-18” apart in rows 24-36” apart. Water-in transplants using a high phosphorus solution. Peppers will thrive in well-drained, fertile soils with a pH of 6.5. Abundant phosphorus and calcium is needed for the best results.
Light Preference: Sun
Harvest: After 60 days for green or 80 days for red ripe, the first peppers should be ready for harvest. Pick promptly to encourage further fruit set.
